Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis
Pelvic pain and Endometriosis
Common signs and symptoms of endometriosis may include painful periods, pain with intercourse, pain with bowel movements, excessive or painful bleeding during menstruation, more clots during menstruation, constipation, urination issues, bloating, nausea or fatigue.
Your OBGYN or RE should know about these symptoms, so if you are having them, please tell your doctor asap, especially if you are planning on having children. A good doctor will be able to diagnose endometriosis, and other conditions that cause pelvic pain, with the aid of a pelvic exam, ultrasound or laparoscopy. If you are diagnosed with endometriosis or a similar pelvic disorder, there are treatments available (medications, hormone therapy or surgery) as well as complimentary care which can help reduce symptoms and improve your chances of conception, such as acupuncture, dietary changes and herbal medicine.
As always, if you ever have questions about pain and reproductive health, feel free to call our office any time! We are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
